Hip-Hop Pathshala operated in Shri Ganesh Vidhya Mandir High School in Dharavi, is a unique comprehensive curriculum-based school of Hip Hop founded by renowned Hip-Hop artist Akash Dhangar. At HHP, art forms like Rapping, Beatboxing and Breakdancing are taught to kids of Dharavi and surrounding areas completely free of cost. The vision is to nurture talent and future champions for India.
The school aims to provide comprehensive and in-depth hip-hop education while fostering a sense of community and social responsibility.
Hip Hop Paathshala’s goal is not limited to simply teaching hip-hop skills; the aim is to create a sustainable ecosystem for artists and youths to explore their talents. As social entrepreneurs, they sought to uplift artists and communities by providing opportunities, mentorship, and a platform for showcasing the talent of young Hip Hop artists and becoming a cultural center for Dharavi.
Akash has a vision to create a positive change in society through the transformative power of hip-hop. Our mission fits into at least 5 of the UN SDGs
Our primary goal is to provide easy access to hip-hop education for children from all walks of life. By breaking down financial barriers, we ensure that anyone with a passion for hip-hop can access the resources and knowledge needed to develop their artistic skills. Furthermore, we strive to nurture and support students in building sustainable artistic careers by educating & connecting them with performance opportunities, and mentorship programs.
Through Hip-Hop Pathshala, we envision to not only impart knowledge and educate about the art form in young kids but also evolve the community with a platform for artists to showcase their talent.
